  The valve stem nut is on the valve cover or bracket.   There is a trapezoidal thread on the lifting rod of the open rod gate valve. Through the nut at the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body, the rotational movement is turned into linear motion, that is, the operating torque is turned into operating thrust.The opening and closing part of the open rod gate valve is the gate plate. The direction of movement of the gate plate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The open rod gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, not adjusted and throttled.



Working principle of open rod gate valve
  Turn the handwheel, through the advance and retreat of the thread between the handwheel and the valve stem, lift or lower the valve plate connected to the valve stem, to achieve the effect of opening and closing.When the open rod gate valve is closed, the sealing surface can be sealed only by the medium pressure, that is, only the medium pressure is used to press the sealing surface of the gate to the valve seat on the other side to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface, which is self-sealing.Most gate valves are forcibly sealed, that is, when the valve is closed, the gate plate must be forcibly pressed against the valve seat by an external force to ensure the sealing of the sealing surface.

  When the valve is opened, when the lifting height of the gate is equal to 1:1 times the diameter of the valve, the passage of the fluid is completely unblocked, but during operation, this position cannot be monitored.In actual use, the apex of the stem is used as a sign, that is, the position where it cannot be opened, as its fully open position.Therefore, the fully open position of the valve is determined by the position of the gate (that is, the stroke).
